Exercise & Classes

Body Control Pilates draws on the latest sports and medical research, building a safe and effective class available to all. BCP has broken down many of the original Pilates classical exercises, which are very challenging to the average person, so that these can be taught progressively. Each class will teach a new movement skill, gradually developing your body awareness, increasing your strength and flexibility, improving posture and coordination.

Body Control Pilates, list eight principles that underpin our approach to the teaching and practise of Pilates:

  • Concentration
  • Relaxation
  • Alignment
  • Breathing
  • Centring
  • Coordination
  • Flowing movements

Throughout the course these eight principles will become the bedrock to each new exercise.

The class is kept small so I can get to know you and work to your individual needs. I believe that correction is the key to effective results and that Pilates will make a positive addition to your life. Though the classes are arranged around a six week plan, it’s possible to drop in at any point as the classes can be adapted to the needs of the clients. By limiting the classes to a maximum of 12 (at Honor Oak & Forest Hill max of 7), I can make sure each client gets hands on attention, helping them to understand the movement through experience as well as instruction. However I would recommend a block booking of six weeks, to experience the full benefit of the plan.
